a Geospatial Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Geospatial Machine Learning Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Marble’s EO analytics stack and help transform large volumes of satellite imagery into scalable geospatial intelligence products. You will design and implement machine learning and AI-based computer vision models that extract meaningful information from multispectral and SAR satellite data.


Your main tasks: 

  • Implementation of machine learning, AI and computer vision models for geospatial applications

  • Development and optimization of scalable processing pipelines for large volumes of Earth Observation data

  • Integration of machine learning models into Marble’s geospatial data processing infrastructure and analytics
    platform

  • Processing and analysis of Earth Observation imagery (multispectral and SAR) and derived datasets to
    support operational geospatial analytics products

  • Evaluation and validation of models with benchmark datasets

  • Contribution to documentation, technical proposals, and internal development roadmaps

a Frontend Developer – Geospatial Web Applications (m/f/d)

As a Frontend Developer, you will contribute to the development of Marble’s web-based geospatial data platform that enables users to access, explore, and interact with satellite imagery and Earth Observation analytics. Technologies you may work with include TypeScript, modern frontend frameworks, mapping libraries, and APIs serving large geospatial datasets. You will design and implement intuitive user interfaces for visualizing large geospatial datasets and interacting with EO-based insights. Working closely with geospatial data scientists, AI engineers, and backend developers, you will help translate complex Earth Observation data into responsive and user-friendly applications.


Your main tasks: 

  • Development of modern web interfaces for accessing and interacting with satellite imagery and geospatial
    datasets

  • Development of intuitive user interfaces for exploring, analyzing, and downloading geospatial data products

  • Translate Figma wireframes to production ready web applications

a Cloud infrastructure specialist (m/f/d)

As a cloud specialist, you will contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of Marble’s cloud infrastructure for our data processing and dissemination pipeline to enable Marble satellite images and analytics to be distributed to our customers. Technologies you may work with include Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, GeoTIFF, COG.


Your main tasks: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain the Marble cloud infrastructure supporting EO data processing and dissemination pipelines

  • Develop and operate scalable infrastructure for processing, storing, and distributing large volumes of geospatial data

  • Deploy and manage containerized services using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Implement and maintain workflow orchestration and task scheduling systems (e.g. Temporal) for automated data processing pipelines

  • Support the integration of geospatial data processing workflows and analytics engines into cloud-based infrastructure

  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability for handling large geospatial datasets such as GeoTIFF and Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (COG)

  • Work closely with backend developers, data scientists, and geospatial engineers to ensure efficient data processing and delivery of EO data products

As a Backend Developer, you will contribute to the development of Marble’s geospatial data platform that enables users to access, search, and analyse large volumes of satellite imagery and Earth Observation analytics. You will design and implement backend services that support the ingestion, cataloguing, and delivery of geospatial datasets and derived analytics products. Your work will focus on building reliable APIs, efficient data services, and backend infrastructure capable of handling large Earth Observation datasets and supporting advanced geospatial applications.


Your main tasks: 

  • Design and implement backend services for accessing and managing large Earth Observation datasets

  • Develop APIs and services that enable search, retrieval, and processing of geospatial data products

  • Contribute to the development and operation of a cloud-deployed geospatial data portal providing access to satellite imagery and analytics products

  • Integrate and support analytics engines and geospatial processing services that power data analysis and insights within the platform

  • Implement and maintain geospatial data catalog services (e.g. STAC) , efficient access to large raster datasets such as Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs (COGs), and to vector datasets

  • Deploy and maintain backend services using containerized cloud infrastructure (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Collaborate with frontend developers and data scientists to enable seamless access to EO data and
    analytics capabilities

  • Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend services and cloud-based infrastructure

a Data Processing Scientist – Payload Data (m/f/d)

As a Data Processing Scientist, you will contribute to the development and improvement of the data processing chain for Marble’s satellite payload. Your work will focus on ensuring the quality, consistency, and scientific reliability of Earth Observation data products derived from the onboard imaging instruments.


Your main tasks: 

  • Development and improvement of processing methods for optical Earth Observation data from spaceborne
    sensors

  • Implementation and validation of radiometric and geometric correction methods for satellite imagery

  • Support the development of calibration approaches to ensure consistent image quality across acquisitions

  • Analysis and evaluation of multispectral imagery to monitor and improve data quality and sensor performance

  • Contribution to the development of operational satellite data processing workflows

  • Collaboration with payload engineers, software developers, and geospatial analytics teams to optimize the usability of satellite data products

  • Support verification and validation activities for Earth Observation data products

As a UI and UX working student (max 20 hours/week) you will help us shape our Marble geospatial portal. You would help us iterate through different wireframes and conduct user interviews to collect feedback.
