As a Senior Data Processing Scientist, you will contribute scientific and system level expertise to the development, commissioning and operation of Marble's satellite data processing chain. You will work alongside the senior scientists and development team, providing an experienced second perspective on processing concepts, calibration approaches, product quality and development decisions.
Your main tasks involve:
Review and contribute to the scientific definition of radiometric, geometric and other EO processing methods.
Provide system level expertise across the complete payload data processing chain and identify dependencies, weak points and appropriate verification approaches.
Translate payload and instrument characteristics into processing requirements and explain data product and processing implications to Space Segment engineers.
Review scientific prototypes, processing implementations and relevant software architecture from the perspective of scientific correctness, traceability and fitness for purpose.
Support the derivation, validation and application of calibration key data and assess whether processing
outputs and intermediate data behave as expected.
Participate in commissioning and operational calibration and validation activities, contribute to product
quality assessment, anomaly investigation and definition of appropriate QA/QC metrics and tests.
